Not only will you be sloshing beer steins filled with Pilsner, but there’s the locally sourced wurst and table service from staff dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen, who will keep all the steins filled to the brim throughout a day of indulgence.

What is the History of Oktoberfest?

The first Oktoberfest was held in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The festival is celebrated with beer, food, and music.

In which German City is Oktoberfest held?

Traditionally, Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival held annually in Munich, Germany.

Why is Oktoberfest in September?

It started in October, but it was too cold, and they moved forward to make the best of the better weather in September.

The festival has been held annually since then, except for a few years during World War I and II.

When is the London Octoberfest?

The authentic Oktoberfest London festival is held at the same time as the Munich festival - from September to the beginning of October.  Some venues in the City of London continue through into November!

What is the Dress Code for London Oktoberfest?

Oh my goodness, can you believe it?  London Oktoberfest is just around the corner, and you know what that means: it’s time to start thinking about the dress code!

That’s right, one of the most exciting aspects of this incredible event is the opportunity for everyone to embrace the traditional Bavarian attire, also known as Tracht.  That means it’s time to either head to ebay or dust off your lederhosen and dirndls and get ready to party in style!
